Jewish Hospital Hank Wagner Conference Center
Program Speaker: Deb Tuggle RN, MN, CCNS
Cardiopulmonary arrest, the epitome of a bedside emergency, is well-addressed through the multitude of CPR and ACLS training courses available to health care providers. But what about all those emergencies that fall just short of an arrest? What about those potentially life-threatening situations that could result in a "code" if handles improperly? This program has been designed to answer these questions for nurses practicing in any adult acute-care setting including medical-surgical, post anesthesia recovery and critical care areas. We will begin with a commonsense approach to any emergency situation modeled after the primary and secondary surveys used in the emergency department. We will then progress to specific crisis situations involving chest pain, dyspnea, hypotension, loss of consciousness, bleeding, wound dehiscence, diabetes and others. Pertinent pathophysiology will be reviewed including myocardial infarction, pulmonary emboli, and circulatory shock. Basic principles of oxygenation and hemodynamics will be emphasized. Please join us for an exciting day of learning!
Fee Includes: Syllabus, box lunch, beverages, snacks and CE Certificate.
