Pulmonary Rehab

Nearly 21 million people suffer from chronic lung ailments resulting in weakness, shortness of breath and exhaustion that severely limit a person's ability to enjoy an active lifestyle. Frazier Rehab Institute's Pulmonary Rehab Program serves patients with chronic bronchitis, emphysema, asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, lung cancer, thoracic surgery, post-polio syndrome and other disorders that compromise respiratory function.

Features

Pulmonary nurse specialists, respiratory therapists and physical therapists coordinate the efforts of the multidisciplinary rehab team and facilitate achievement of treatment goals.

Program components include:

  • Phase I - An inpatient program for patients who are medically stable, but unable to function independently at home
  • Phase II - Outpatient treatment program patients attend three days per week for 4-10 weeks
  • Phase III - Following Phase II, an outpatient program designed to maintain strength and endurance by exercising in the controlled setting of Frazier's pulmonary rehab gym

Certification by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation
