Primary Care
The Importance of Primary Care Like a Family Doctor of the past, a Primary Care physician looks at the whole picture of your care, not just a single feature. Your Primary Care physician gets to know you through regular visits and becomes familiar with your family, lifestyle and the many factors that affect your health. When you require medical care for a specific condition, your Primary Care physician can recommend a specialist and a hospital based on your needs. Frequently, he/she will continue to manage your care even when specialists are involved to ensure that your total health needs are addressed throughout treatment. Jewish Hospital recognizes the importance of Primary Care and offers a residents training program with the University of Louisville Department of Family Practice, based at Jewish Hospital. Family Practitioners work side-by-side with medical students in developing their skills to become specialists. Find a Primary Care Physician Finding a doctor doesn’t have to be complicated.
