Types of Aesthetic Surgery

Aesthetic surgery changes existing facial or body features to improve your appearance. Surgical procedures to alter excessively large breasts, to change the shape of protruding ears or to refine the nose are considered aesthetic surgery.

Cosmetic Surgery

Cosmetic surgery primarily involves returning a more natural look to facial and body features that have been changed by age, excessive exposure to the sun or pregnancy. Procedures to remove wrinkles, for example, involve cosmetic surgery.

Reconstructive Surgery

Repairing physical abnormalities that are the result of injuries or birth defects is considered reconstructive surgery. Having a cleft-lip corrected is a reconstructive surgical procedure.
