Sedation or General Anesthesia

Sedation or general anesthesia may be determined by the type of procedure and by the preferences of you and your surgeon. In many cases, a local anesthetic will be used to numb the area along with a sedative to relax you. However, some procedures require general anesthesia and you will sleep through the entire operation. Any postoperative pain is controlled easily with medication. Ask your physician about your options.
