MRI/PET Imaging Services

Jewish Hospital provides state-of-the-art services such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET).

Examples of MRI and PET Scans

An MRI scan is a diagnostic tool that allows physicians to view the internal structures of the body without the use of X-rays. Magnetic Resonance Imaging uses a strong magnetic field, a radio frequency signal and powerful computer equipment to produce images of the body.

A PET scan is a diagnostic imaging technique that measures the metabolic activity of cells in the human body. PET images contain information about tissue function and metabolism.

Open MRI

For patients who have claustrophobia, Jewish Hospital is pleased to offer the comfort of an open MRI.
