About JHSMH

Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare (JHSMH) is a regional health care network that includes 70 health care facilities and 1,900 patients beds in Kentucky and southern Indiana. The merger of Jewish Hospital HealthCare Services and CARITAS Health Services to form JHSMH combines the strength and honors the heritage of two organizations to provide a complete array of health care services to this region and beyond, including: hospitals, emergency air ambulance services, outpatient care, nursing home care, occupational health, psychiatric care and rehab medicine.

JHSMH provides home health care to families in 41 Kentucky and southern Indiana counties, occupational health mobile services to 30 Kentucky counties and employs a network of physician practices that provide both primary and specialty medical care. The organization employs more than 8,100 people.

In consonance with our Jewish heritage of community responsibility, it is the mission of Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare and its affiliates to provide a continuum of health care services of exceptional quality to the people of Louisville and the surrounding region, to meet the needs of people regardless of ability to pay, and to advance the scope and quality of medical and surgical care by promoting research and education.

Vision Statement

Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare will strengthen its position as a financially viable health care system serving the people of Kentucky and Indiana as the preeminent center of adult tertiary medical/surgical care. JHSMH, in partnership with the University of Louisville School of Medicine and others, will provide leadership in the pioneering of new services in selected fields of medicine and the furtherance of academic and clinical excellence through the provision of quality, cost-effective services, the increased allocation of resources for research, education, and the support of the Louisville Medical Center.
